cork floor care

Just purchased 43 year old home. The den has beautiful original cork floors. Sadly the one and only owner has passed away. I know no history of whether this floor was originally sealed or just waxed periodically. There are dark colors on the floor where furniture and large oriental rugs were and surrounding clear areas are much lighter of course. I live in a rural community and can get any product you recommend to do the best to restore my floor and would appreciate it if you could tell me what to do with this product. I hope you do not mention the word belt sander as they scare me. I do not want to replace this wonderful floor but need some help in getting it to one color. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
