Grey film on brick
By BJ Jenkins from Slidell, LA USA on June 04, 2006 Category: Sealing Brick Floors
The brick pavers for my kitchen and sunroom were set in thin-set, sealed with Mex-Tec twice and then mortar was applied. The bricklayer wiped them with water and rags, told me to wait about six hours and then mop. I mopped them with clean water twice, rinsing my mop every 2 sq. yds. They look fine while they're wet, but even after brushing with a nylon brush, vacuuming the dust, and more cleaning with a wetrag, there's still a film. I've cried a lot. The bricklayer said he will clean them with a rotary brush machine. I think the brick wasn't sealed well enough before the mortar was applied. Since it looks fine when wet, will more sealer solve our problem. Do I have to wait 90 days before I seal it? Help, I'm desperate to move back into my house. We flooded during Katrina and I am a week away from moving in, except for this brick. BJ |
