Chalked paint on brick

The question is simple. The answer may be a little more complicated.

My home of over 50 years is constructedopf brick, Over the years the white trim has stained the brick at the gable ends. Have tried acids with no luck. I wonder if it is wise to use a pressure cleaner. Will a pressure cleaner in fact, remove the chalked paint but more importantly, will the pressure, in any way, damage the brick? . .
