my microwave oven would spark and produce bright flashes when we would heat ordinary things lik coffee macaroni in microwave safe bowls. t would also make a strange noise at the time of the sparking/flashing.

Presently, it no longer heats the food or liquids placed in the oven.

What is your best guess? Might it need a thermoster?
