Covered Buttons & Covered Buttons Looped Backs

Posted in Upholstery Supplies over 3 years ago, 0 replies

2 OF MY DINING ROOM ARMCHAIRS  HAVE PADDED BACKS ATTACHED TO THE CANE.  I WOULD LIKE TO RECOVER THEM AS THEY ARE OLD AND THE BACK PAD HAS FABRIC COVERED BUTTONS ON BOTH SIDES.  THEY WILL NOT UNSCREW SO THEY HAD TO BE REMOVED WITH WIRE CUTTERS.  NOW, I NEED NEW BUTTONS SO I CAN COVER THEM WITH THE MATCHING FABRIC.  THE PROBLEM IS THAT AS I LOOK ON LINE,  THE SIZES OF THOSE I SEE ARE 1 1/2  INCHES LONG.  MINE ARE 3/4 OF AN INCH LONG.  THIS MAKES SENSE AS THE THICKNESS OF THE BACK PAD IS ABOUT 1 INCH.

WHERE CAN I FIND THESE BUTTONS IN THE 3/4 INCH SIZE, CAN THEY BE COVERED MANUALLY OR DO I NEED A SPECIAL TOOL?  DO YOU KNOW OF ANY UPHOLSTERY PLACES IN MY AREA THAT CAN DO THAT FOR ME?  AND LASTLY, as I look at the chairs and the fabric,  a wooden button matching the wood tone of the dining room chairs would also look very nice but again,  where do I find these buttons.

I thank you for your time and I hope to have a response from you soon.
