I'm considering the removal of an old dumbwaiter in my home to make use of the space for home electronics equipment. I also am concerned about safety of young and curious children who may find it a fun place to hide, not realizing some of the dangers involved. I want to know if removing the dumbwaiter would have negative effects on the historic value of my house, as I'm considering application to the national historic register.
