CEILING FAN

Posted in Electrical over 9 years ago, 0 replies

I RECENTLY REPLACED THE PULL SWITCH IN OUR CEILING FAN, WHICH HAS 4 LIGHTS

NOW ONLY 1 OF THE 4 LIGHTS WORKS

THERE ARE 2 CLUSTERS OF 5 WIRES EACH IN THE BOTTOM SEGMENT-BLACK AND WHITE.

4 WIRES OF EACH COLOR GO TO EACH OF THE 4 LIGHTS

THE 5TH BLACK WIRE GOES TO THE SWITCH.

I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM LIES WITH THE 5TH WHITE WIRE.

WHEN I REMOVED THE CAP, IT CAME COMPLETELY OFF, INCLUDING WIRES CONNECTING TO CLUSTERS ABOVE.

THERE WAS A BLUE WIRE, TO WHICH I CONNECTED THE BLACK WIRE FROM THE SWITCH

THE OTHER CLUSTERS ABOVE ARE MATCHING PAIRS--RED, GREY, AND OTHERS

ONE OF THE CLUSTERS HAD 3 WHITE WIRES AND I ATTACHED THE 5TH WHITE WIRE FROM BELOW INTO THIS CLUSTER OF 3.

I HOPE THIS IS CLEAR AND YOU CAN HELP.

IF SO, I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE YOUR ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER
